Jerald M. “Bo” Jackson

(August 11, 1930 – January 18, 2012)

Jerald M. “Bo” Jackson, of Oakhurst, Texas, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2012 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mildred Jackson. Three children: Jerald Jackson and wife Delma of Huntsville, Texas; Cathy Steinbach and husband Eric of Oakhurst, Texas and Debbie Walding and husband Chester of Riverdale, GA; five grandchildren; Raymond Walding and wife Mindy of Tyrone, GA. Rex Walding and wife Shawn of Hampton, GA. Misty Torres and husband Jose of Fayetteville, GA. Shawn Carter and Stewart Carter both of Huntsville, TX. and 11 great-grandchildren; Nathan, Kadence, Luke, Reece Ann, Reagan Alice, Triston, Jaden, Amber, Cody, Wade and Zachery. He was preceded in death by his parents John Cole and Ruby Lee Jackson, two brothers and five sisters. Mr. Jackson served in the U.S. Army from 1953 thru 1955 and was stationed in Korea during that time. He worked for Walker County Butane (Propane) Company for 15 years and retired from the Texas Department of Corrections Huntsville Unit Mechanical Department with over 25 years of service. He was a member of the Huntsville Church of Christ for 52 years. The family will be receiving friends for visitation Friday, January 20th from 5-8 pm at Brooke Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday January 21st at the Huntsville Church of Christ on Hwy 30 West with Bob Payne officiating. Burial will follow at the Raven Hill Cemetery in Oakhurst, Texas. Pallbearers are as followed; Keith Allen, Jesse Oates, Zack Currie, Steve Winfrey, Ray Hillhouse, Randy Hillhouse. Honorary Pallbearers will be; John Steven Jackson, Gary Jackson and Phillip Jackson.
